We are currently designing a completely new theme for JrNet. Currently the new theme uses a top bar for notifications and info and it has a cool dock(just like the mac one) on the bottom to do the most common tasks easily. Both the dock and the info bar stay on top and on the bottom of your browser even when you are scrolling. The normal page(the part behind the info bar and dock) is planned to have a blue glossy/glass look. We will post more info when we can about the new theme(maybe even a link to a beta test )

We have implemented a system where content publishers can post articles on JrNet or the JrNet Blog without being on their respective sites, and instead posting articles using separate desktop applications. Content publishers can contact me to learn how to use this new system.

My puzzle game Reach the Goal is close to its final release, in fact the next release will be the final :). This game will be the first to use JrNet’s new DLC service. The full game wil have 15 levels(the current beta has 10) and will have regular level pack updates on the DLC server.
In case you haven’t played this game yet, the point of the game is to use special blocks to navigate the ball around obstacles and into the goal. The special blocks have an arrow on them and they can be rotated. When the ball hits the block, it goes in whichever direction the arrow was pointing. If you haven’t played it yet, or you would like to play it again, use the JrNet Games Plugin with the link below.

Development of the JrNet Games Plugin has been going pretty well. We have recently updated the Java launcher part to check if the plugin is installed, and then install it for you if it is not. Now, we will be updating the main plugin to extend that feature. In 2.40 we are planning to add a new version checker, so that when you try to start a game and a new version of the plugin is available it will let you know and even upgrade automatically for you.We also have many other changes planned for 2.40.

Here is all of the features/enhancements planned for 2.40:

Enhanced Vista Support

External Library use(The plugin currently keeps all resources internal and causes problems on Vista)

Automatic Update Checker

Support for giving parameters to the game being run

If there are any suggestions for other features, don’t be afraid to leave a comment.
